Brazil captain Thiago Silva highlighted his side’s evolution since a slow start to this World Cup (via The Guardian):
I think our evolution has been impressive since the first match. We are well-prepared and planning to progress to the quarter-finals. The coach provided us with all the necessary tools; we have plan A and plan B. We hope that [Monday] will be a wonderful day, and that Neymar will be as inspired as everyone else.
ESPN FC tweeted out the new look that Mexican stars Javier Hernandez and Miguel Layun are debuting today against Brazil:

Japan head coach Akira Nishino on his decision to make his side play defensively against Poland (via BBC):
In that moment, I had to make a decision on our tactical direction. [Spectators] were short-changed 10 minutes, and they probably got a little less mileage than usual out of the first 80 minutes. So I want to pay people back [against Belgium].
Sporf noted that the Japanese barely escaped the group stage, edging past Senegal on yellow card differential—the last possible tiebreaker before drawing lots:
Senegal are the first side in #WorldCup history to be eliminated on Fair Play Points.

We could be in for a completely different champ this time around. Pretty much anything can happen, so we have to find out, but you can make your picks for bragging rights later now!
